WHAT DOES THAI MASSAGE DO TO YOUR BODY?

Thai massage is an ancient practice with many benefits that are supported by modern science. It may reduce the severity of your headaches, decrease lower back and joint pain, increase your flexibility, calm your anxieties and energize your mind and body.

Thai massage is more dynamic and focuses on enhancing the energy flow. It has a bit more of a healing affect than Swedish massage, which is more focused on relaxation, mainly using long strokes and rubbing techniques to relive stress and pain.

HOW DO I PREPER BEFORE A THAI MASSAGE?

  • Eat something 1h before massage at the latest, eat some fresh fruits or collation.

  • Drink more tea or water, avoid coffee, don't drink alcohol.

  • Make some home-stretching - made before massage reduce pain after it.

SHOULD YOU BE SORE AFTER A THAI MASSAGE?

It's normal to feel sore after a massage. After stimulating muscles that you may not usually use, you might experience delayed onset muscle soreness. This is a physical response to the inflammation as your body heals. This can happen if your muscles aren't accustomed to massage.

WHY DO I FEEL UNWELL AFTER A THAI MASSAGE?

A deep tissue massage usually leaves the muscles feeling sore, as if clients have done intense exercise, and when there is muscle soreness, the immune system naturally activates T-Cells to try to repair those muscles. As such, this immune system response can make some clients feel as if they are ill.

DO I NEED TO REMOVE ALL CLOTHES FOR A THAI MASSAGE?

You do not need to be completely undressed for a massage if you would be more comfortable wearing your underwear . It is most common for clients to completely undress for their massage, especially if it is a full body massage, where the therapist will be working across your whole body. It's also important to remember that you'll always be draped with a sheet or towel so only the area being worked on is uncovered.

IS IT RUDE TO FALL ASLEEP DURING A MASSAGE?

It's not rude, in fact sleeping through a massage is a compliment to the therapist. falling asleep tells them you are relaxed and comfortable and enjoying the time on their table.

WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES OF MASSAGE?

Side effects associated with massage therapy are rare. However, they can include nausea, headaches, soreness in the muscles being massaged, bruising or bleeding in some cases, fatigue, dizziness, fainting and skin irritation.
